How to Apply for UDYAM Registration in India?

Here is a step-by-step guide to applying for UDYAM registration online:

Visit the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’ UDYAM registration portal.

Click the ‘For New Entrepreneurs who are not yet registered as MSME or those with EM-II’ tab.

Enter your Aadhaar number and name from the Aadhaar card. If you are a partnership firm, LLP, or business, the Aadhaar number of any of the directors or partners must be entered. Karta’s Aadhaar number is necessary while forming a Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).

Check the declaration and then click on ‘Validate & Generate OTP’. An OTP will be delivered to your mobile number listed on your Aadhaar card.

After Aadhaar Validation: Select a ‘kind of organization’ from the dropdown menu, such as a sole proprietorship, partnership firm, LLP, or company. Enter the PAN (of the proprietorship, partnership firm, LLP, or company, as applicable) for verification.

The UDYAM portal will automatically capture the organization’s name from the PAN. Fill out the remaining details on the UDYAM registration form. These comprise location, office address, plant address, caste, type of business, business incorporation date, date of initiation of business, your company’s NIC code, number of employees, investment in plant and machinery, bank data, and so on.

If you own more than one firm, you can participate in various activities at the same time.

You can also choose automatic registration on other government websites like TReDS, Government e-Marketplace, and the The National Small Industries Corporation’s (NSIC) B2B portal and the National Career Service, in addition to the UDYAM registration certificate. Simply pick the ‘Yes’ option to register on these portals.

After filling out all of the relevant information, click ‘Submit and Get Final OTP’. Enter the OTP issued to your mobile number.

Following successful OTP verification, a ‘Thank You’ message will appear on your screen, along with your UDYAM registration number. Copy this number and then choose the ‘Print UDYAM Certificate’ option.

Enter the UDYAM registration number and send the OTP.

Enter the OTP, and the MSME UDYAM certificate will show on the screen. Save both the conventional UDYAM certificate and the UDYAM registration certificate in Annexure.
